DIY: {Almost Free} Gallery Wall

gallerywalllogoresize

Hi There!

Today I’m sharing a fun, easy, and {almost} free DIY Project! As many of you know I’ve been re-doing my room (see instagram #VPRoomReno for sneak peeks). One of my major projects to cover the white space on my walls was a large gallery wall and a small gallery headboard area. I filled these spaces with some of my favorite artwork, inspiring images, and some fun prints (most of my own designs). Which made this project virtually free minus printing costs. I’m going to take you step by step through how I created these walls. And also include some free printables I designed to help you fill your gallery walls.
Step One: Print out your images.

I used old magazine articles, quotes, artwork, and photos in my wall! I printed them out on regular white paper with my  color printer. I use the HP Deskjet 2544.

Step Two:  Cut them to size.

I then used a straight cutter and cut all of my images to size.

Step Three: Arrange all the picture into groups by size.

I had a few different groups. A large group, a medium-large group, a medium group, and a small group.  This is one of the most important steps because it will ensure an even looking wall.

Side note: I also added a mirror and a chalk board into the mix to make my wall really stand out.

Step Four: Hang  all the large pictures first.

I first hang the pictures to get an idea. I just looped a piece of scotch tape at the top (Don’t worry, I’l later go in and secure the pieces with more).

Step Five: Add medium images.

Step Six: Add smaller images and secure.

When I added the final images and once I was happy with their placement, I secured all four corners with tape.

Step Seven: Snap a pic!

I wanna see all your gallery walls!  Share them with the hashtag #VPGalleryWall. Above are pictures of my two!

Here’s Some #VPFreePrintables for all of your gallery walls!

[free printables have been removed for the time being.]

Hope you all enjoyed this little DIY and I can’t wait to see all of your own gallery walls!

xo,

Emily
