#CoffeeDate: Bad News, but Good News Too

Hey, happy Friday and welcome to a new type of post on here called Coffee Date! I wanted to start sharing a little more personal posts every once in a while- almost like we’re on a little coffee date! (and you’re letting me vent to you and catch up with you, because that’s what coffee dates are for! 🙂

So today, to start this out, I’m gonna share some bad news, and some good news too!

As most of you know I’ve always kept this site, and how I interact with you, completely transparent. Hiding things or being unclear has never been something I’ve been interested in. Likewise, that goes for what I’m about to tell you. I wanna get real  for a sec. If that’s cool?

I will be the first to admit, sometimes I take on a little too much. Because, I like everything, and I want to do everything, and I think I have time and energy to do it all. But the truth is, I can’t. (Shocking, I know!) And I now find myself at a point where I really have taken on way too much. Like, probably too much for 3 people to handle and I’m trying to do it all on my own.

And I’ve put a lot of thought into what I want this blog to be, this shop to be, my brand to be, and I want it to be so much better. I’m proud of the kind of content I’ve been putting out but not necessarily the quality. And part of that is because I’m spreading myself too thin, trying to do too many things, too soon, and it shows in my content. And for that, I’m sorry, I’m trying to improve with every post, but sometimes it’s a slow process.

So all this to say, the bad news is- I’m going to be delaying the launch of studioEM: The Shop. This kills me because this was a project I was SO excited about, but when I chose the launch date, I had no idea how many trips I’d be taking right around that time, or how challenging this next college semester was going to be, or how much time the new kinds of content I would be making would take to create (I love making videos but they take 3-4x longer to make than blog posts).

I found myself days away from my projected launch date, with products I wasn’t completely happy with, prices I wasn’t either, and a barley there shop site. Launching a shop has been a dream of mine since 2012 and that’s not how I wanted it to start out- a sort of mediocre thing I hoped people would like. I wasn’t proud of it.

So, yeah, it’s a delay but this won’t be a super-far away delayed date, in fact I’m aiming for only a few extra months to make it perfect. Hopefully early to mid March will be the golden time.

While this is a little bit of a let down to me, I’m excited to give my products the time they deserve and give you all a collection of really awesome things that I’m excited about!

So the good news…

If you haven’t seen it in any of my videos yet (or caught the hint from earlier in this post) I am going on two trips right back to back through the last week of January and first week of February! This means awesome content for two reasons: 1. This is the first year of my newly made YouTube Channel, so I will do my best to vlog as much as I can on these trips to share my experiences with you! and 2. I’ve been planning this trips like crazy and I think I’ve found just about everything on the internet about these places- and of course I’m going to share them with you!!

So where am I going?

Well, no where international yet. ): Sticking to my all time domestic faves- Georgetown, D.C.  and Orlando, FL! I’ll share more info about my packing lists, my plans, and more when it gets closer to my trips, but for now I’m just excited to announce it!

Last time I went to Georgetown DC, I blogged about my favorite things there! You can find that post here if you’re curious.

So that’s it, for today! Tomorrow I’ll be back with fun content! Promise! 🙂

Thanks for your continued support!
